The BL214 EtherCAT Coupler is a next-generation modular distributed I/O system developed by Beilai Technology for high-performance industrial automation and motion control applications based on the EtherCAT real-time Ethernet protocol.
Designed for machine builders (OEMs), system integrators, and automation engineers, the BL214 provides a flexible and reliable solution for expanding field I/O in high-speed EtherCAT networks.
The coupler is built with industrial-grade components and complies with EMC and EMI standards, ensuring stable operation in demanding industrial environments. It features dual Ethernet ports, allowing convenient EtherCAT network connection and flexible system architecture.
The BL214 supports the standard EtherCAT protocol, enabling seamless integration with leading EtherCAT master platforms such as TwinCAT, CODESYS, and Omron controllers. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications including machine automation, motion control systems, robotics, and intelligent manufacturing equipment.
To integrate legacy field devices, the BL214 also provides one RS485 interface, supporting Modbus RTU to EtherCAT protocol conversion, allowing traditional Modbus devices to be easily connected to EtherCAT-based control systems.
The coupler supports up to 1024 bytes of input data and 1024 bytes of output data, meeting the data exchange requirements of complex automation systems.
As part of Beilai’s N-series modular I/O platform, the BL214 can expand up to 32 I/O modules, supporting multiple signal types such as:
Digital Input (DI)
Digital Output (DO)
Analog Input (AI)
Analog Output (AO)
PWM Output
High-speed Pulse Counter
Thermocouple Modules
The system uses a high-speed backplane bus architecture, supporting up to 32 modules with a maximum scanning cycle of 10 ms, ensuring fast and reliable data acquisition for real-time industrial control.
The BL214 also features built-in EtherCAT diagnostics, enabling real-time monitoring of communication status between the coupler and connected I/O modules. In addition, the coupler can provide up to 2000 mA drive current to power the connected I/O modules.
For easy installation and maintenance, the BL214 adopts a spring-clamp connection structure, with separated wiring terminals and pluggable I/O modules. The tool-free wiring design and ultra-slim structure simplify installation and reduce cabinet space requirements.
The BL214 EtherCAT Distributed I/O Coupler delivers a high-performance, scalable, and easy-to-integrate I/O solution, making it ideal for real-time automation systems, machine control, and next-generation smart manufacturing equipment.
